Forgotten and Re-discovered

After his death in 1972, Wolfgang Jacobi was gradually forgotten: only among accordion players was his name still remembered. On the occasion of Jacobi’s centenary, his grandson, Dr. med. Andreas Ullrich, decided to take action to save his grandfather’s works from oblivion. In 1997 he began a project with the musicologist Dr. Barbara Kienscherf for the re-discovery of Wolfgang Jacobi. Since then a number of publications have appeared and plans have been made to re-integrate Jacobi into the contemporary world of music.
